We believe these four areas are inter-related issues. Together this can lead to the good way to make a sustainable impact in the beneficiary population group. Our focus group is ranging from Child, Women, Old-Aged, Youth. When Communities Thrive, People Thrive. Come and Support Pehchan.
Education is an important tool that enables women and girls to participate in decisions that affect their lives and in improving their social status. Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one’s awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one’s rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen. Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation.
2.4 million Indians die of treatable conditions every year! Healthcare is a luxury which inaccessible for the poor. Health cannot be a privilege. Health is defined in the World Health Organization’s Constitution as “a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. Thus health “is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources as well as physical capabilities”. We Promote and strengthen capacities, create awareness in communities to continue to demand and access healthcare services. We involve the private sector and non-governmental organizations as partners for delivery of healthcare services
The youth comprises over one-third of the Indian population which in turn constitutes a major part of the labour force of the country. The number of underprivileged youth in India who lacks education and proper guidance is so huge that according to the reports of the Financial Express only 15% of the young graduates passing out of colleges are employable; the rest are branded unemployable. We aim at creating a pool of young and independent people, from a section of underprivileged youth, through skill enhancement in tandem with market requirements. It is an effort towards bridging the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in the fast emerging services and retail sectors of modern India.
We believe that all sections of the society need to be sensitized to the need to protect and conserve our natural wealth and resources. We believe that our planet is entrusted to us for care-taking, to be used sustainably and handed over to the next generation with all its glory and values intact. We need to make people aware that they have a stake in the world around them. They must be educated so that they can then take informed decisions. We believe that if we create informed awareness, people will be able to take a stand on issues that could impact them in the short term and in the long run. The natural wealth and resources are a treasure to be handed over to the next generations. Sense of personal and collective responsibility needs to be inculcated in the Indian mindset. Mankind’s responsibility towards the conservation of wildlife and forests cannot be undermined or forgotten. The role of wetlands in the ecosystem has finally been recognized as a result of our sustained campaigns.
